A number of poker tactics will surprise you with their simplicity. This is sample. Write down your results, every time you gamble.

Thou must record your successes and your loses; for it is the sum total of all a mans achievements which develop his basis.

How detailed is up to you. I tend to consider that hourly info and that style of intimate detail is not needed. Basically work out how far ahead you are and what amount (if any) you have taken out. Of course, if you are beaten, note that too, no matter how much it it might pain you.

Do not forget to write down what type of poker you are wagering on, if that is critical to you. (In my experience, most players keep to what they understand and do not experiment. If all you note is up, loses and withdrawals, you’re light years ahead of most players out there!)

Provide yourself realistic ambitions, such as a ‘dream’ target (new auto, get-a-way or whatever). When you withdraw, add the money withdrawn to your dream counter. The greater the success you have, the closer that dream will get!
