Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker player on the globe by many of the top-ranked professionals. He was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching the age of 1. His grandpa taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was hooked on poker and wanted to learn whatever he could about poker. Phil routinely told his elders that he was planning on being a professional poker player. Phil did not permit the adverse comments from others destroy his dream of becoming one of the strongest poker players on the planet.
Phil started playing seriously after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his skills at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a learning opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a normal thing at the time. He became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved 2 final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he defeated quite a few of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his success to dedication and an eternal love for poker. Phil says that he’s picking up skills every single day and is quite humble about his achievements. He knows he makes errors every single session of poker and always aspires to get better.
Despite the fact that Phil has won some big tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
