Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker contender on the globe by many of the top pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching the age of one. His papa taught Phil penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to discover whatever he could about poker. He routinely told his elders that he was planning on being a professional poker player. He didn’t allow the detrimental feedback from other people destroy his goal of becoming one of the greatest poker players on the planet.
Phil began competing seriously after acquiring a false ID by the name of Jerome. He honed his techniques at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial number of years for Phil were a learning period and winning wasn’t a regular thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he defeated many of the well known pros which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. Phil continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an eternal love for poker. He says that he’s learning every day and is quite abashed about his accomplishments. Phil knows he makes mistakes every single session of poker and always strives to get better.
Despite the fact that Phil has come first in some big-time tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a regular basis.
